Quick Update

One week has past since Dwayne was admitted into the hospital. A week of pain and unanswered questions, yet at times peace and hope despite circumstances. Each day has brought a bit of improvement in Dwayne's energy levels and ability to eat, although he still is very limited in what he can do and how much he can ingest. His limbs and abdomen are quite swollen, and that seems to be getting worse each day.

I am facing Wednesday's surgery with apprehension and yet hope. From all accounts it seems it is a very difficult procedure which is tough to recover from. At the same time we believe that this may be one of the things God uses to heal Dwayne. Hopefully some of his worst symptoms will be alleviated by this surgery.

Dwayne and I are so thankful for all of the prayers to God on our behalf. We know that God is hearing and answering them. Please continue to petition God for Dwayne's healing. Please pray also that we will glorify Him in everything we do.

From Pastor Graham & Helen Lough, Boissevain, Mb.

Dearest ones...our prayers, love and thoughts are ever with you. We are close friends of Dwayne's Mom; and I'm a veteran Church planter, now retired. Last week I e-mailed your address to all my friends to enrich the prayer pool in this hour of greatest need.

If you've not yet done it...go to www.brooklyntabernacle.org/about/prayer.cfm

That is Pastor Jim Cymbala's Church with intercessory prayer 24/7 for 30-days each request.

This morning my wife and I will be at Helen's Church in Bdn. with our daughter, son-in-law and family.

Will go for now...GOD IS WITH YOU!
Love in Christ. Graham & Helen

Hi Dwayne & Janet,
We've been keeping up with your blog since it started. You are in our thoughts very often and we are praying for you. (As a staff at Bethany, we are too.) Know that you are not alone.

Your ministry at this time is a most remarkable one. Thank you for sharing your lives so openly.

I know you like to run, Dwayne, and so do I. My training routes often take me past your house. It is a reminder of what a delightful privilege it is to be able to enjoy physical fitness. May I never take it for granted. On August 13 I plan to run in the 10K Classic and shall be thinking of you, my friend.

We continue to pray for healing for Dwayne. Will be remembering him as he undergoes surgery on Wednesday. Praying for God's guidance for the hands of the surgeons, as they perform the surgery that I pray will bring healing to Dwayne's body. Praying for you as well,Lisa, as you face this with your husband.

Oh My! The road you have been asked to walk is not an easy one, The Lord has trusted you with much and you truly are an encouragement to those that are following your journey.

Wednesday will be long, hard, frustrating, joyful, blessed, confusing and so much more it will be a roller coaster of emotion and faith.

God's word says He will never leave us or forsake us, He will hold you in the palm of his hand, Nothing no nothing can separate you from His love, You are His.... He is there, He loves you and He cares, He Is Good, He Is Faithful, Hi Is Kind, He Is Merciful, and His Timing Is Always Right.

If the roller coaster ride seems to be more than you can bare hold to the simple truth of His word He remains all you need.

God has placed you here for "Such a Time as This" We Ache with you, Cry with you and Celebrate with you. We are praying for you all.

Love & Prayers In Christ

We just heard from our daughter and son-in-law, Carol & Allan Dowdeswell, that you were sick. They gave us the link to this blog.

We just want to let you know how sorry we are for all the pain - physical, emotional, and spiritual - but will be praying that you will continually sense God's presence and love as you hear Him speaking to you in the "silence, small voice, and the megaphone." We will also be praying for your healing even though we have to leave the when and where in His hands.

Hi Dwayne,George here, just a short story and some words of encouragement.12 years ago I was to have a triple bypass, and the night before looked for support in His word.I found Psalm 4 verse 8"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep, for Thou,Lord, only makest me dwell in safety" I slept well that night, and all went well. peace, and God Bless!

You won't remember us, Dwayne, but we are friends of your parents from the time your family spent in Lloydminster. Other family connections go back even further to Glenbush.

Merv Loewen told us about your health challenges, and I wanted you to know that we will pray for you.

We know from many of our own experiences in the past, as well as our granddaughter's first heart surgery shortly after birth this past spring, that God does hear and answer our prayers. He cares about our needs and gives us the strength we need to meet them.

We will check in again. This is a wonderful way to keep people posted with updates.

Dwayne, we have been praying for you daily since we heard the news. Always remember that God leads us through the valley, not simply into it! He is faithful. Many are praying for you here!

Hi Dwayne and Janet,
You don't know me. My name is Jacky Jolley from near Manchester in England UK. I was talking to my friend Cheryl one of your 'flock' earlier on msn and she gave me a link to your blog.

It will be 4pm tomorrow afternoon over here when you have your surgery and I have put an alarm call on my mobile phone to remind me to say an extra special prayer just at that moment that the surgeons skillful hands will be guided by God towards a successful outcome.

The only thing is - we don't know what God's will for you is Dwayne - God moves in mysterious ways - and who are we to question His judgement just because we cant see the bigger picture like He can?

Like all your friends and family I too pray that the operation will be a success in our eyes and experiences but in the end God's will will be done and we must trust and believe in Him and in His judgement of what a 'success' is.

In His love
Jacky

Hi Dwayne & Janet,
Thanks for all the updates. They have been very helpful in remembering you before our Lord. May you sense the Lord's presence especially at this time, as you deal with your Mother's passing and trusting God regarding your own future. We are trusting God with you for a miracle.
